How your file is handled
Uploaded PDFs, image-watermark assets, and the generated watermarked PDF are stored only for the duration of the task and transferred over HTTPS. Within one hour after the task finishes, the source file, the watermark asset, and the output are wiped from the server and the download link expires. We never retain, share, or use your files for model training.

Limits and things to watch out for
- Image watermarks must be PNG or JPG— GIF, WebP, and BMP are not supported yet — convert first. Each image must be 5MB or smaller.
- Encrypted PDFs are rejected— Remove the password from the source PDF before uploading.
- We do not remove existing watermarks— This tool only adds watermarks. We do not provide a reverse 'remove watermark' feature.
- Browser preview is approximate— Live preview is rendered with CSS in the browser. Treat the downloaded PDF as the source of truth for fonts and metrics.

- QWill every page be watermarked?
- Yes by default. Enter a range like 1-3,5,7- to watermark only selected pages.
- QCan I use Chinese or Japanese watermark text?
- Yes. The backend automatically tries a CJK-capable font when non-ASCII text is detected.
- QWhich image formats are supported?
- PNG, JPG, and JPEG are supported up to 5MB. Transparent PNG areas are preserved where possible.
- QIs the preview exact?
- The preview is an approximation in the browser. The final PDF generated by the backend is authoritative.
- QAre watermarks vector or raster?
- Text watermarks are vector PDF text objects. Image watermarks are embedded at their original resolution and PNG transparency is preserved.
- QCan I rotate the text watermark?
- Yes — rotation is fully adjustable between -90° and 90°. -30° is a common choice for diagonal stamps.
- QAre my files retained?
- Source PDFs, watermark assets, and outputs are deleted automatically within one hour and the download link expires.
- QCan I remove an existing watermark?
- No. This tool only adds watermarks. Removing watermarks is intentionally out of scope.
